ANA Hill Day

The American Nurses Association’s 2026 Hill Day was on June 25th!

While ANA continuously advocates for nursing priorities, legislators need to hear directly from nurses in their district or state to truly understand the unique role they play in patient care and the challenges facing the profession.

This year, almost 500 nurse leaders, students, and advocates gathered on Capitol Hill to urge Congress to support the profession and patients by:

  • increasing support for the Nursing is a Professional Degree Act
  • creating safer workplaces with the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act
  • reauthorizing and funding the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs
  • removing outdated barriers to care for patients and practice for APRNs with the Improving Care and Access to Nurses Act
