Marcus Henderson, MSN, RN is a Lecturer and Clinical Instructor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, where he teaches undergraduate psychiatric-mental health and community health nursing. In his teaching, Marcus strives to help students understand the complexities of community health, engagement, and the impact of the social determinants of health. He maintains an active clinical practice as a psychiatric-mental health nurse for Adolescent Services at Fairmount Behavioral Health System in Philadelphia, PA. Previously, Marcus served as the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Up and Running Healthcare Solutions, a Philadelphia-based organization that provided nurse-led case management by community health workers and other supportive services to homeless individuals. For his work in the Philadelphia community, Marcus was recognized as a Community Champion for Positive Change by the Independence Blue Cross Foundation in 2018. In 2019, Mr. Henderson was elected to the Board of Directors of the American Nurses Association and appointed to serve on the Committee on the Future of Nursing 2020-2030 at the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine. Marcus received his BSN and MSN in Health Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. He also holds a certificate in Healthcare Innovation from the Perelman School of Medicine.
