On March 12, 2008 Senators Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) and Susan Collins (R-ME) circulated a letter through the U.S. Senate soliciting support for a $44 million increase in funding for nursing workforce development programs. This Dear Colleague solicitation asks other Members of the Senate to sign-on to a statement supporting $200 million in fiscal year (FY) 2009 funding for the Nursing Workforce Development programs administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration.
