Support Funding for Nursing Workforce Development! Urge Your Congressperson to Override the President’s Veto of Health Spending Bill
As expected, President Bush has vetoed a spending bill containing an $18 million increase in fiscal year 2008 funding for Nursing Workforce Development Programs. The House of Representatives will vote to override this veto TOMORROW - November 15th. The last vote in the House of Representatives came within three votes (1%) of a veto-proof majority when they passed the bill (H.R. 3043) on November 8. With your help, we have a good chance of succeeding in the next vote. Contact Congress today! Tell them now is the time to invest in nursing by voting to override the President’s veto.
